• The first and most important rule here is to respect the privacy of others. Never snap pictures of strangers without their consent. You might feel the act quite un-harming, but it is seriously offending and most of all very rude.
• Many institutions have banned the use of camera mobiles inside their premises and there are some camera-phone sensitive areas where their use is restricted. So if you happen to be in such places, make sure to you keep your camera lens covered (in-case you have that option). Always be sure to check up with authorities if or not you are allowed to take snaps.
• Avoid circulating pictures of people via mass mailing unless you have taken explicit permission from them
• Taking pictures, morphing them on your PC and publishing them you the web or circulating them is highly unadvisable. This can even lead to legal issues as not everyone takes these things lightly.
• Most people might get offended even if a camera is pointed at them, irrespective of the fact if the recording is on. So make sure that you either shut the camera lens when not in use or point the camera away from others while conversing on the mobile.
• Some tourist attractions require that you pay addition taxes for carrying cameras. You can escape the taxes by hiding your camera mobile, but if you are caught inside the tax rates could even be doubled. So make sure you pay camera taxes or collect camera carrying coupons unless you do not intent to use the camera inside.
• Where ever applicable, do turn off your camera's flash. Like for instance while snapping pictures in a zoo where flash light can be distracting.
• Just a matter of common sense, but most of us fail to realize how embarrassing it could be to see a distorted image of oneself. So no matter how tempting it would be, avoid distorting images and showing them off to everyone.
• Exercise thought before sending MMS messages. Not every one likes to receive multimedia messages especially given the fact that most networks would require the recipient to pay in-order to download MMS messages.
