Origin of Camera Mobiles

A camera mobile phone as the name suggests is a mobile with an in-built camera which can be activated or deactivated as required by the user. When the camera mode in the mobile is switched on the display of the mobile phone acts as a camera viewfinder and one of the buttons acts the trigger. The pictures taken using a camera mobile can be stored in the camera using its internal memory or in any removable media know as memory cards. Pictures can be used as camera wallpapers, sent via email or MMS to other mobiles or PCs or even printed out.

When and where was the first Camera Phone introduced?
Today one can find the camera mobile phones everywhere, but looking at the history of cell phones, the first camera mobile (J-SH04) were introduced by Sharp and J-Phone in Japan not so long a go in Nov 2000. This phone had features like a small CMOS camera, 110,000 pixel resolution, color LCD screen, 256 STN color display; 500-number phone book; one-touch Web access and a speaker phone among others. Priced at $500 the phone created a huge fan following and has been the father of the camera mobile phone revolution.
