Other Important Features to Look at:

BlueTooth Compatibility
The BlueTooth technology is an open specification for wireless short-range transfer of voice and data between your camera mobile and other stationary devices like your PC, Printer or other phones. So if your camera mobile is Bluetooth compatible, you can easily transfer files on to your PC or printer (at a range of 30 feet or less) without the use of messy cables. Now that helps a lot.

Image Editing Functionality
Most camera phones today feature image editing functionalities which includes, changing image size, image cropping, image compression, image enhancement and image alteration. The major benefit of this functionality is the fact that large images can be resized or compressed for faster transfer and easy storage. Compressing the images can help you save up on lots of memory space as well.

So as a rule of the thumb, be sure to check up with the dealer if the camera mobile has these functions.

Operating Frequency
The operating frequencies that your mobile supports practically decides in which countries you will be able to use it. Most mobiles today come with Triband functionality which supports 900/1800/1900 MHz frequencies. A triband phone can be used in most countries including the US and Europe. An advancement to the triband is the quad band which supports all four standard operating frequencies which includes 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. This makes quad band phones internationally roamable. With the advancement in technology you will be able to find quad band phones at very affordable rates, though a triband phone should do in most cases.

Battery Life
Battery life is quite important as it is quite obvious that camera mobiles drain more battery power with the camera mode on. In either case, the two major questions that you need to ask your vendor before purchasing your mobile is the mobile talk time and stand by time.

Talk time is basically the average time you can spend conversing on your mobile phone, through outgoing/incoming calls, without the battery getting drained. Whereas the Stand-by time is the average amount of time for which you can keep your cell-phone on without actually talking on it.

Average battery standby you should be looking for is 300 - 500 hours
And the average battery talk-time should be between 7 - 10 hours

This article should have given you a fair idea of where to begin with, what kind of things to look for, what questions to ask before purchasing and the factors to bear in mind. If you would like to proceed, be sure to check out our article on where to buy your camera mobile phone?
