The Samsung SGH-P777 is a hardcore imaging phone that comes with immense functionalities for imaging, messaging and gaming. Equipped with a 1.3 megapixel camera, the SGH-P777 can help you take high resolution images of 1280 x 1024 pixels which are good enough to produce decent prints. The camera also allows you to generate images in SXGA (1152 x 864 pixels), VGA (640 x 480 pixels), QVGA (320 x 240 pixels), and QQVGA (160 x 120 pixels) resolutions. The 4X digital zoom does a good job and can help you capture minute details to a great extend. A host of imaging functions ensures that that you can play around with the images distorting or enhancing them before you set them as wallpapers, caller IDs or send them along using multimedia messaging.
The mobile is ready to take low light snaps as it comes with a LED flash located right next to the camera lens. Varied shooting modes allow a user to take multi and mosaic shots in addition to single shots. The mobile also allows you to shoot sixty minutes of video in CIF (352 x 288 pixels) resolution which is quite good.
The phone features a TFT (Thin Film Transistor) screen which can display up to 2,62,000 colors. The display is clear and bright at both low and high lighting conditions. The backlit is activated as soon as the phone is slid open giving you clear display even in bright sunlight.
From the audio and entertainment point of view, the SGH-P777 has a lot to offer. The phone features a fully functional MP3 player which is complimented by endless memory space and a stereo headset jack that will allow you to listen to music on the move. The only drawback is the lack of speakerphone functionality which comes as a surprise considering the fact that all competitor phones have that feature. The mobile allows you to download and install games using J2ME if you get bored of the already included games which seem quite engaging.
The SGH-P777 has 100 MB of internal memory which is quite enough to store hours of music, a large number of images and content. The downside here is the lack of memory slot for expandable memory cards. So if you ever run out of space, the only choice left would be to clear off some existing files.
Overall this camera mobile has great features especially from the imaging point of view and should turn out to be a priced possession to any camera mobile lover.
